In the summer of 2022 Bowes Construction completed asphalt paving on highway 81. On this project, Bowes Construction was a subcontractor for the asphalt paving portion of this project. The purpose of this project was to reconstruct US-81 through the Twin Lakes to raise the elevation of the road and prevent the road from flooding in future high-water events. The newly paved stretch of 81 now has 12 foot wide driving lanes and 7 foot wide shoulders. Bowes Construction paving crew paved the entire stretch from county road 10 to county road 12. Bowes, paved both the main roadway as well as the shoulders! Highway 81 should be good to go now, in an event of water levels.
