20th Street South Improvements was an ongoing job from 2018 to 2019. This project stretched from Rio Grande Avenue to Main Avenue in Brookings. Bowes Construction prime-contracted this job and hired multiple subcontractors to specialize in other areas. Bowes Construction started out by tearing up the old asphalt and excavating the road to install storm sewers, water lines, and upgrade sanitation. After our subcontractor had the pipework completed Bowes laid down the base course as well as grading the newly placed base course to prepare for paving. Once the dirt work had been completed Bowes Construction paved the entire road. Upon paving, the road was painted and had the proper safety signage added!
